Care enough

he's the kid who sits unnoticed in the corner; the type who easily melts into the background.
he's the kid who sits alone at lunch.
he's the kid who's never invited.
he's the kid with no name.
he's the kid by himself. alone. forgotten.
he's the kid who's heart aches. every. single. day.
if you took the time to notice you would see the depth of his eyes and the pain that is etched in his face. you would see the hurt of rejection. you would see a lonely face that only wants a friend. that only wants to be accepted.

he's the kid who is done standing alone. he's the kid tired of being ignored and brushed off. tired of being alone. and he's the kid who is turning down a new and dangerous path full of darkness. he is the kid who's time is just about up.

you could have prevented this. you could have prevented all of this; if you cared. if you had cared enough to notice him. if you had been his friend, he never would have turned down the dark path that will lead to his destruction. but you didn't care. you didn't care enough to tell him about the Friend who will always be there and always love you. you didn't care, and now that you do care, it is all too late.    ....or is it?  you find out - if you care.
