I started this picture about a month in a half ago, and only finally finished drawing it the other day. I guess I don't draw quite as much as I used to. Which sounds sad, but I did find while drawing this that I would like to draw more than I do. Because I really do like to draw. :)

Dear heart, who's in charge?
"Follow your heart."
"Chase your dreams."
"Just do what makes you happy."
Really? Because following your heart is definitely not what the Scripture says to do. In fact, the Bible tells us in Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?
Number one, the scripture here tells us that our heart is deceitful and wicked. And not just a little bit wicked, but desperately so. Who wants to follow something that is so diluted and twisted? So warped and black. I don't trust anything that is said to be deceitful and desperately wicked!
Number two, the verse also says, "who can know it?" If we don't even know our hearts (which are wicked anyway), then how can we follow it?! And yet that is what this world does.....which explains a lot.
No, I am not going to lie, and say that I am innocent in this matter. Because following our hearts is something we all naturally try to do. And we need to stop. Because our deceitful little hearts are leading us into destruction.
So instead of letting your heart take the reins, guard your heart. Hold on to it.
Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool,
but he who walks in wisdom
will be delivered.
Proverbs 28:26
There is a way that seems right to a man,
but its end is the way to death.
Proverbs 14:12

"Hello Good morning How you do?"
"Hey, there!" A warm smile spreads across her wrinkled face. She nudges her husband. "George, give the boy some candy."
The boy stares at his feet. His face is like a stone. He barely looks up, and only gives a faint and incoherent "hello" in response - and only after he is prodded to do so by his sister.
The cheery face of the elderly woman does not waver. After telling 'George' to give the boy some candy once again, her husband fishes around in his shirt pocket and pulls out the timeless peppermint.
"Thanks...." the boy mutters, and he walks away.
Now, doesn't that sound like a very rude little boy? Well, that little boy is my brother. My brother! Jackson! When people try to talk to him, he always looks down and his face goes expressionless. If he answers any questions, he either does not respond, or does it so quietly that no one hears him. Erg!
Well he did that to our elderly neighbor this morning. Our neighbor said, "Good morning!"
Jack's reply : "gookjkjdmlkjkljorninkjl;kg" in a quiet mumbo jumbo way.
Neighbor: "Well, aren't you going to say 'hello'?"
So my mom took action and made him practice with her on how to cheerfully and loudly answer people when they talk to him! She pretended she was someone coming up to talk to him, and said, "Good morning!" And Jack had to respond nicely and politely each time, as if mom were an elderly person from church or someone.
Now that he has been instructed on how he should speak and act, hopefully at his next opportunity, he will be nice and loud and cheerful. I told him, "Jack, you need to be bubbly! And loud. That's very important when you are talking to old people."
Yep, and that was a lesson on manners today. :)

Disney on Ice
Today is my younger brother's fourteenth birthday. We celebrated his birthday last week, though, because my oldest brother was up for the weekend. So, happy birthday, Joey!
Also, my dad got tickets through his work to go to Disney on Ice tonight! He was only able to get four tickets, though, so he and my mom took the youngest two in our family: Jackson and Gracie. Jackson was so excited! He started counting down the hours today for when they were going to leave. :P He was so happy!
Because of that, yesterday we had to "catch up" on our Disney movies for Jackson. So we watched Lilo and Stitch, which we had never watched before. I thought it was a cute movie. But I liked it better before I knew Stitch could talk! His voice is horrible.
Yep, anyway, I hope they have a lot of fun there!

Awkward + Awesome
Awkward:
fooling around with the mustard at lunchtime, and ending up getting it in my baby sister's hair. ; P
choking on bread because I was laughing so hard at my sister.
staring into space, and then suddenly realizing that you are staring at a person, and you have this awkward eye-contact.
going to the store at night and buying flour for my mom. And then freaking out because I thought, "oh no! She didn't tell me how many bags to buy. What if she needed two bags of flour?" so I went back inside the store and got another bag of flour. And got the same check-out dude. "Are you the girl who just bought flour?" *embarrassed face*. "yes!" and then not being able to count change..... Finally the dude just told me, "hey, you can just give me the money and I'll give you back the change, okay?"
And after all that, my mom only needed one bag!
Awesome:
Inside jokes.
Snuggling with my younger brother. He says the most interesting things when we are alone together..... :)
Rereading books. for the third or more time!
The fact that fall is here!!! Yay!
